One of Ryan’s greatest joys in music is improvisation. The jazz tradition has always provided musicians with opportunities to make new music in the moment, while maintaining a structure to which the audience can relate. Through the interpretation of familiar and timeless melodies, as well as the use of animated rhythm and imagination, a jazz combo can provide the audience and players with a gratifying musical experience to remember.
It is in this spirit that Ryan formed his new jazz piano trio. With the help of bassist Carl Loschiavo and drummer Bruce Wayne, the trio explores classic jazz standards, bebop, contemporary jazz, and original material. Whatever the tune may be, the emphasis is always on groove, inventive and melodic solos, and group communication. The trio can provide a pleasing and lively sound for any environment that will allow you to sit back and listen to the music unfold, or get up and dance.
