Ryan Bridwell is a musician based in San Marcos, Texas. An endlessly curious spirit, his many roles include performer, educator, composer, and music director. Though Ryan’s main love is piano and keyboards, including accordion, he also sings and is studying guitar and saxophone.  Making music in varied settings, Ryan can be found live and in the studio with bands, students, and dance companies and now on Zoom and Skype. Ryan is available for remote recording as well!

As a songwriter and composer of vocal and instrumental music, Ryan draws inspiration from many sources. His heroes include singer/songwriter piano greats Bruce Hornsby, Leon Russell, and Tori Amos, as well as Jerry Garcia, Miles Davis, James Brown, Pfunk, and Hendrix. As a lyricist, Ryan is deeply influenced by Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Robert Hunter, Cole Porter, Willie Nelson, the blues, and jazz standards. His jazz piano concept is informed by many, including Herbie Hancock, Ahmad Jamal, Horace Silver, Hornsby, Charlie Parker, and Anita O’Day.

He has just released his first album of jazz-inspired instrumental compositions, La Prima.
